Starting a Mountain Biking Business in Queenstown!
Mountain biking is becoming more and more popular in Queenstown, and QRC Graduate Piyush Chavan took his passion for the industry and started his own business! TreadmarkNZ was built with the goal to make mountain biking more accessible to everyone, the idea for TreadmarkNZ stemmed from an assignment Piyush completed during his QRC studies. Our goal has been to make mountain bike coaching accessible which has inspired us to expand our operation to these new and exciting locations.

This was the first bike park in Queenstown, when efforts of creating a lasting trail network in the area were started by the club in 2003. Now almost 20 years later this area has been our first choice for introducing skills. With it’s relaxed atmosphere and lakeside location this place creates the perfect conduce environment for learning, or just simply experiencing the trails and cooling off in the lake after.

Nestled in the Ben Lomond Reserve, Queenstown bike park has some of the best riding in the world. With over 30 trails lift accessed trails to ride and incredible connections to the upper mountain for loamy beech single tracks, this has been a popular choice for consistent progression.

Built through the community efforts of the Queenstown mountain bike club, this park has options for beginners and advanced riders. With steady and consistent progression in mind the park is designed to intuitively help you progress to the next step. Want to make that progress smoother? Book into one of our lessons. Most of our coaches have a jumping background and we love imparting the best technique to our clients so their skills can help you ride jumps no matter where in the world you are.

I’m Piyush Chavan and I run Treadmark. Having raced internationally whilst representing my country - I’ve found my purpose in service of a community, helping clients reach their goals and more importantly providing correct insight into their riding ability as a tool to use for sustained progress over time.
My love for articulating my experience and mountain bike techniques has driven me to start Treadmark - A platform for like minded individuals like me to succeed.
My favourite trail in Queenstown has to be Blugazi and my favourite program to coach is all of them!
I'm also a PMBIA tech certified instructor and hold a 40hr Pre hospital emergency care certificate.

Originally from Australia, Jake was inspired by the mountain lifestyle when he first visited New Zealand 10 years ago. This and the many riding trips to follow motivated him to pursue a career as a professional mountain bike instructor and guide.
After a 5 year stint living and working in Canada, Jake has had to opportunity to train with some of the world's leading MTB coaches and he is now excited to be back in Queenstown riding some of his favorite trails in the world.
Jake enjoys personal exploration through mountain biking, and has developed a keen interest in learning strategies for the mental side of riding. After working with many coaches of his own he now shares these skills with others.
When he isn't riding his bike, you'll find him playing the drums, hiking, climbing, or chilling by the lake. A perfect ride for Jake includes a healthy mix of tech and flow, winding down to a local brewery.
