JUNIOR COACHING

Our aim is infuse mountain bike coaching with making memories, this also involves creating the right mindset amongst kids so they not only have the right tools, but also the ability to use them to consistently progress in their riding over time.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAMS

Our Gravity-focused programs run Wednesday to Thursday, covering Ben Lomond Trails using Skyline Gondola (Day 1), Coronet Peak (Day 2), and optional Cardrona Alpine Resort (Day 3). We focus on risk management, body dynamics, jump technique, and self-awareness, ensuring sustainable progress for kids.

The Race Development program (Dec 18-19 or Jan 8-9) simulates a race weekend with skill refinement, timed training, and race runs. Our PMBIA Level 3 instructors guide riders through mental preparation, line choices, and strategies.

  • Programs run Wednesday to Thursday:

Day 1 (Wednesday) - Full day at Skyline mtb.
Day 2 (Thursday) - Wynyard jump park to Skyline bike park.

    • Body dynamic skills -Weight distribution and management on variety of gradients and features.

    • Pressure control to maximize efficiency in braking.

    • Risk management while attempting newer features or challenging sections on the trail.

    • Refinement of jump technique, so riders can safety ride bigger and different types of jumps.

    • A thorough understanding of one’s riding ability.

    • All skills taught are intended as tools for sustainable progress . This is so kids have an insight not only into their ability but can also gauge the risk vs reward when attempting newer features on their own.

  • Race development program 18-19th DEC or JAN 8-9th 2025

    • Lift pass included: Will be held either at Skyline, Coronet peak or Cardrona Alpine resort depending on weather. If at Coronet and Cardrona, complimentary return transport will be provided.

    • A 2 day program to explore racing potential in kids. Participants should already be consistent in their riding. This program will allow for safe decision making in challenging environments which is what a race would provide.

    • This program would serve as a simulation of 2 day race weekend which would involve practice on 2 or 3 tracks of choice, refinement of skills and timed training on both days.
The participants on the 2nd day will then do 2 race runs with the goal of improving their own time.

    • The program is designed to make riders that are progressing more aware of their riding and ultimately help them be creative on the trails as their speeds increase.

    • Our PMBIA level 3 instructors will be providing training on mental preparations, line choices and overall strategies needed to boost performance in a racing situation.

To purchase, you must tick the box in the additional information section when booking the above dates. This program will run alongside the regular Gravity Focused program and groups will be split accordingly with different instructors.
